A Herndon man injured several people Thursday when he drove drunk and hit three vehicles, two of which were struck when he traveled the wrong way on Broadlands Boulevard.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office , the driver of a 2006 Nissan Altima was traveling north on Chickacoan Trail Drive on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2015 at about 3:34 p.m. when he disregarded a stop sign at a high rate of speed and struck a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by an Ashburn man. After the impact, the driver of the Nissan continued eastbound in the westbound lanes of Broadlands Boulevard where a motorist was able to avoid impact by entering the razed median.

An Ashburn woman was cited for carrying a loaded handgun at Washington Dulles International Airport, according to the Transportation Security Administration. The gun was found in the woman's purse Thursday afternoon at the airport checkpoint.

Police say an unlicensed 15-year-old driver was behind the wheel in a fatal car accident over the weekend in Loudoun County. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says the wreck occurred early Sunday when a deputy saw Pitre driving with his lights off.
